Village on Morehead

The Village on Morehead, a new luxury retirement rental development, is now welcoming residents.

Located at 727 East Morehead St., the senior residential community is in the heart of Charlotte, adjacent to the Queen City’s quintessential neighborhoods of Eastover, Myers Park and Dilworth and close to some of the city’s best dining, cultural and medical institutions.

“We spent three years researching the optimum location to build The Village on Morehead,” says James Gray, founder and CEO of The Aspenwood Company, a senior-living hospitality firm. “We are seeing people who live in the surrounding neighborhoods leasing units so they can stay close to family and friends, places of worship, doctors, favorite restaurants and shopping. Our building offers the best of both worlds — a sophisticated environment with a location that is regarded as one of the best in this wonderful city.”

The 12-story Village on Morehead features 192 well-appointed units, with 19 floor plans ranging from one to three bedrooms to penthouses with more than 2,000 square feet of living space.

Residents will find high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the city, designer kitchens, walk-in closets and luxurious finishes. Large balconies accessed through glass doors welcome the outside indoors.

The centerpiece of The Village on Morehead is a large raised outdoor terrace and courtyard with lush landscaping, a bocce court, and outdoor kitchen and living room. Residents and guests enjoy access to drink service and dining, taking advantage of the temperate climate Charlotte offers.

“There’s no reason why a senior-living community has to feel like a senior-living community,” says Roger Manley, managing principal of BB+M Architecture, designer of The Village on Morehead. “It should feel more like a high-end resort or a vacation location, but also comfortable.”

Live luxuriously without a large long-term investment

Unlike many senior-living communities, residents at The Village on Morehead pay a one-time membership fee and only commit to a one-year lease. The opportunity to lease allows members the freedom to keep their well-earned funds invested and working for them.

For dining, residents can choose among multiple chef-driven venues, including The Morehead Grille for breakfast, lunch and dinner; Cashiers Café featuring sandwiches, salads and other light fare; and the Cardinal Lounge, a full-service bar with cocktails and a curated wine list.
