Experience summer at its finest on Lake Norman by joining Safe Harbor Peninsula Yacht Club. From camps to water activities and simple relaxation – there’s something for everyone.
Safe Harbor Peninsula Yacht Club is an ideal destination for water lovers of all ages. Located on the south side of Lake Norman, it’s a convenient getaway for families wanting a vacation day close to home.
Children love the Club’s half-day and full-day summer camps which offer new adventures and themes each week. Kids can learn water and boating safety, while having a great time under the care of an experienced team of instructors. They’ll be entertained with plenty of land games and splashing around in the junior Olympic-sized swimming pool or toddler pool.
Older kids and teens stay active with camp activities that include kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing. New this year, campers can enjoy beginner to advanced level boating lessons. They will develop safe seamanship and water safety practices.
For the young at heart, the Club has an array of activities and social events along the shores of the lake. Sign up for weekly water aerobics or simply lounge poolside with stunning views of the lake. Meet and greet other members at Thirsty Thursdays (with half-price bottles of select wines), Build Your Own Burger nights (vegan options available), or dine al fresco and listen to a live band every first Friday of the month. Refresh and refuel for the new week on Sunday with the Club’s casual menu or popular brunch buffet.
Some of the Club’s most favored water events are the Raft Ups. No boat? No problem! Enjoy a complimentary shuttle to the event. There’s always a party on Raft Up day when SHPYC has live music, grilling and a good time.
