RESTAURANT NEWS
Little Mama’s Italian is now open for dinner in Rea Farms with lunch service starting Monday, January 29. The expansion to south Charlotte comes after the success of Little Mama’s in SouthPark.
“I look forward to sharing the simple yet delicious flavors of my childhood — food inspired by our upbringings …” longtime restaurateur Frank Scibelli of FS Food Group says. The lunch and dinner menus at the Rea Farms location are identical to the original Little Mama’s, plus two additional pizzas. Expect home-style Italian comfort foods like scratch-made pastas and mozzarella which Scibelli made the centerpiece of Mama Ricotta’s, the Charlotte restaurant he founded more than 20 years ago.
Moo & Brew, a staple of Plaza Midwood since 2016, is expected to open a new location in downtown Matthews on Monday, January 29. The 3,700-square-foot space at the corner of Matthews Station and N. Trade Street has a roomy interior and ample patio space. The new restaurant is part of a larger plan to expand the brand to more communities.
Make dinner an experience. L’Ostrica, the new restaurant in Montford along Park Road, is hosting its first wine dinner on Monday, February 5, featuring Brittan Vineyards. Robert Brittan is coming to town and bringing a lineup of estate wines to pair with six courses from Chef Eric Ferguson and the team. As a winemaker (with a background in physics and philosophy), Brittan is a gifted storyteller and the conversation around the food and wine should be memorable. Tickets are $210.
