Top-ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler battled the heat and humidity to close out the PGA Championship with a five stroke lead over a trio of second place finishers: Bryson DeChambeau, Riley Davis, and Harris English. Jon Rahm tightened the gap Sunday afternoon, but dramatically fell short the last three holes and fell seven strokes behind.

Sunday’s triumph is Scheffler’s third career major. He finished the fourth round with an even-par 71. The crowd erupted in cheers as Scheffler completed the final round.
Onlookers also enjoyed a moment of levity during the trophy presentation. As Scheffler hoisted the Wanamaker Trophy over his shoulders, the trophy’s lid tumbled to the ground. Scheffler had a quick recovery and shared a laugh with PGA officials.
