Suzy and Andy met when she was viewing a house for her boss who was moving to Charlotte. Andy was the real estate agent. They hit it off, but it took Andy two weeks to work up the nerve to ask Suzy out. A little over a year later, Andy surprised her with a proposal at the Charlotte City Club.
The couple wanted their June wedding at Quail Hollow Club to be timeless, elegant and memorable, with delicious food, good drinks and a festive atmosphere. “We chose Quail Hollow because it is the most quintessential venue for Southern elegance,” Suzy says. “It is a beautiful venue on its own, so not much was needed in order to bring our vision to life.”
Their Jewish celebration included the signing of the ketubah (marriage contract), followed by an outdoor ceremony with Suzy and Andy, their parents and officiant under a chuppah (wedding canopy) draped in pastel flowers and baby’s breath. The couple’s siblings read the traditional Seven Blessings (sheva brachot). At the reception, they surprised guests with a cigar-and-bourbon (Andy is an avid collector) bar and served french fries and sliders for a late-night snack.
