Alicia and Brandon’s paths first crossed in a marketing course at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. A friendship blossomed into a romance, and the two continued to date post-graduation. Alicia — a business-development manager at an engineering-services firm — returned home to Charlotte, while Brandon pursued his master’s degree in Tennessee. In 2021, he moved to the Queen City, proposing to Alicia on the white sand beaches of Tulum, Mexico, in spring 2023.
For their wedding, Alicia envisioned a ceremony overlooking the 18th hole and a garden party, with guests enjoying scenic views of Quail Hollow Club’s back patio, the classic ambience of its ballroom and its outstanding service and food. “I wanted to take advantage of our location and weather and allow our guests to be outside as much as possible,” she says. During cocktail hour, a jazz saxophonist played Kenny G and Stevie Wonder tunes and his-and-her cocktails featured spicy margaritas and aperol spritzes. A favorite moment for the couple was sharing private vows in the garden before the ceremony.
