Cooper & Jordan Sease

For their celebration, Cooper and Jordan envisioned a fun, classic wedding — one that reflected their personalities and included thoughtful touches. “I wanted to be sure everything had a meaning behind it,” says Cooper, who met Jordan on a blind date arranged by friends.
She and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day at her family’s home in Rock Hill, South Carolina, taking first-look and wedding photos in the backyard. The couple’s traditional Episcopal service, officiated by Cooper’s childhood priest, featured music chosen by her and her dad, along with a full choir. A niece and two of Cooper’s best friends’ children served as flower girls and ring bearers.
The reception was at McBryde Hall at Winthrop University, the couple’s alma mater. “We wanted it to be different from a tented venue, and we worried about the weather when having an outside wedding,” Cooper says. “McBryde Hall had a special meaning to us, and I knew it had a lot of potential… it has an Old World feeling with a touch of grandness to it.”
Cooper loves design and décor, so the party showcased a rainbow of florals, fun combinations of linens, patterns and textures, and varied furniture styles. Floral wreaths and flower boxes adorned the front steps of the hall, and a pianist at a baby grand piano surrounded by lush trees welcomed guests. Artwork from custom save-the-dates — featuring strawberries for Cooper’s hometown of Fort Mill, Carolina Jasmine for the couple’s Carolina roots and a bug for Cooper’s golden retriever ‘Bug’ — was used on the bar panels, napkins, signage and cups.
During cocktail hour, Champagne, aperol spritz cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were passed, including ham biscuits — a staple served by Cooper’s grandmother. Guests enjoyed a carving station, pizza/flatbreads, shrimp cocktail, hibachi and a late-night snack of mini corndogs and french fries. A live painter — a surprise from Cooper’s parents — captured the couple’s first dance, and light-up cowboy hats on the dance floor kept the party going. “I would not change anything,” Cooper says. “My advice to future brides is to enjoy every minute of the day.”
