Blume Studios is on a roll, bringing its fourth immersive entertainment exhibit to Charlotte this spring — and it’s inspired by a faraway land long ago. Visitors will experience views of the Nile, explore ancient pyramids and gaze at wonders of the ancient world.
Horizon of Khufu: Journey in Ancient Egypt is an internationally acclaimed immersive expedition which transports the viewer from present-day Egypt back to 2,500 B.C. through the use of VR headsets.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, the last remaining wonder of the ancient world, may be the star attraction, but there’s much to see on this 42-minute expedition. Guests can go freely from experience to experience like watching an ancient embalming ritual to attending the funeral of King Khufu.
Virtual tour guide Mona, a young Egyptologist, will help explorers as they find hidden corridors and wander the Queen’s chamber.

Horizon of Khufu was first produced in 2022 by Excurio, a global leader in virtual-reality storytelling and education. It was years in the making, with every aspect carefully researched and grounded in historical data. Recent discoveries about the pyramids are also woven into the journey.
Tickets go on sale March 6 at blumenthalarts.org for a limited run through August 30. SP
