A nice nod with good timing for The Cellar at Duckworth’s team in uptown. The cozy spot downstairs at 330 N. Tryon St. was just named one of Yelp’s Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America. It’s the only restaurant in Charlotte to crack the list, which is based largely on the volume of reviews with keywords like “romantic,” “date night” and “valentine.”

Skip the wait for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Starting Feb. 6, Snooze at Apex SouthPark (and all locations) will be taking reservations Monday – Friday. New items have also been added to the menu and there’s a monthlong celebration of all things pancakes in February.

Some of the new menu items at Snooze include:

• Crispy Garlic & Avocado Miso Rice Bowl: Jasmine-garlic rice topped with house-made miso aioli, red pepper, carrot & cucumber vegetable slaw, two sunny-side up eggs, crispy garlic, red pepper dressing,  sliced avocado, toasted sesame seeds and scallions.
  
• Ricotta Soft Scramble: Three cage-free eggs soft scrambled with ricotta and topped with chives. Served with Dijon citronette, spiced pepitas and Parmesan-dressed greens and toast.
  
• Chilaquiles: Crispy corn tortilla chips layered with black beans & green chile. Topped with house-made cilantro garlic aioli, two sunny-side up cage-free eggs, pickled peppers & red onions, cotija cheese, cilantro and lime.
  
• Bread Pudding French Toast: House-made brioche bread pudding French toast topped with vanilla crème, caramel sauce, strawberries, candied pecans, whipped mascarpone and cinnamon sugar.

Following an effort to rebrand from Bonterra, the owners of Phillips Bistro & Wine Bar announced its closure this week at Phillips Place, citing difficulties coming out of the pandemic via Instagram (the account has now been removed). The original Bonterra, known for its extensive wine list and setting inside a converted church, had been a mainstay in Dilworth for more than 20 years before relocating to SouthPark in 2022. SP
