Move over Park Road Shopping Center, there’s legit excitement among Cotswold neighbors that they’ll soon have their own neighborhood hot spot. Sycamore Brewing is moving in and neighbors are excited about another eating and dining option that’s family-friendly and a proven draw for all ages.
Sycamore Brewing is adding a 7,000-square-foot location at Cotswold Village in southeast Charlotte, along with an 11,000-square-foot beer garden. Plans call for the site to open in summer 2026.
The business formed by Sarah Brigham has been among Charlotte’s most successful craft brew operators since opening its South End flagship in 2014. The expansion entails a multimillion-dollar investment and the addition of as many as 50 workers, President Rich McGrath says.
The new addition will directly face Randolph Road, across from the Chick-Fil-A in the current Visionworks space and parking lot. The beer garden and indoor area will face Randolph.
McGrath says the outdoor space will be tiered and they’ll bring in additional trees.
Growth in the craft beer industry is not easy. There’s strong competition and consumers have an array of choices, with the growing popularity of spirits, craft cocktails and non-alcoholic options. But McGrath says Sycamore’s retail and distribution business grew last year. “We’re excited about what the future brings,” he says.
“We evolve with the trends. Our specialty is and will continue to be beer. However, we have leaned more heavily into other alcoholic and non-alcoholic options in our taproom,” he says. Earlier this year, Sycamore released its first non-alcoholic beverage, NA Southern Girl Blonde.
“We’re thrilled to expand into Cotswold and create a place where people can relax, connect and enjoy what we do best,” Brigham said in a release.
The Cotswold location will be designed with families in mind, making space for brunches, live music and kid-friendly activities. Sycamore is working on the project with Asana, the development’s owner.
As one neighbor told SouthPark, she was sad to see longtime restaurants like Wolfman’s Pizza and Brueggers Bagels depart, but the addition of an establishment like Sycamore was a long time coming. SP
