Something sweet and salty (and colorful!) is coming to Eastover. Salted Melon Market & Eatery plans to open up shop at 815 Providence Road, which was home to Hubee D’s chicken restaurant for nearly a decade.
Salted Melon will anchor the corner at Middleton Drive which boasts a collection of upscale boutiques and restaurants within walking distance to Eastover and Myers Park neighbors.
Renovations, which include building a patio, will take place over summer. Expect Salted Melon’s cheery coral and blue color scheme to brighten up the building, inside and out. “This will be a great space to pick up breakfast, lunch and dinner, grab coffee or a smoothie in between meetings or appointments, or set up a remote workspace,” owner Thomas Coker said in a statement announcing the expansion.
Salted Melon has built a following in South End for its grab-and-go gourmet groceries, lunch service and cocktail bar. Expect the same menu with all-day breakfast, salads, bowls, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, tea, coffee and espresso available via counter service at the Eastover location. Seated dinner service will start at 4 p.m.
The South End spot on Worthington Avenue has something new to offer this summer, too. Look for a smoothie bar to debut in June and in Eastover, when it opens. SP
