Ready, set, Gogh

The Arts

April 30, 2021

Bree Stallings painted this Vincent Van Gogh-inspired mural at Camp North End in honor of the artist’s birthday on March 30. In addition to being a talented multimedia artist, the Queens University graduate is the newly installed director of artistic experiences at Blumenthal Performing Arts. In her new role, Stallings will help BPA expand its programming and connections with local artists. “I can’t wait to continue to bridge the gap between our community artists and our arts institutions, as well as strengthen the bond between our public spaces and high-level art experiences,” Stallings says.

The mural sits at the future entrance of Immersive Van Gogh, an art experience debuting June 18 in the historic Ford building. The touring exhibition features more than 500,000 cubic feet of towering projections, illuminated images from Van Gogh’s catalog of masterpieces and more than 60,000 frames of video. Tickets are on sale now — and selling fast — and start at $39.99 for adults and $24 for children. The experience runs June 18-Sept. 12. Learn more at vangoghclt.com.
