Pandemic or not, the Queen City has seen a surprising number of new food and drink openings this summer. Here’s a roundup of the latest Charlotte has to offer.

Ruby Sunshine in South End serves a New Orleans-inspired brunch Thursday-Monday — think Bayou Shrimp Benedict with a Big Easy Mimosa (sparkling wine, OJ and pomegranate juice). Currently open Thur.-Mon. for dine-in, takeout and delivery.

Alchemy at C3 Lab specializes in vegetarian-focused food with plenty of options for omnivores, too. Serving lunch, dinner, brunch and coffee. Located at C3 Lab in South End, which also has an art gallery for perusing before or after your meal.

Three new open-air food stalls debuted last month at Camp North End: Bleu Barn Bistro (burgers, tacos and other farm-to-table seasonal items) La Caseta (tacos, pupusas and arepas from the team behind Sabor Latin Street Grill), Saru by Bow Ramen (Nagahama-style Tonkotsu ramen, with ultra-thin noodles in a hot pork bone broth). Hours vary by location.

Little Mama’s Italian Kitchen is the latest from FS Food Group, which owns Mama Ricotta’s, Paco’s Tacos & Tequila, Midwood Smokehouse and Yafo Kitchen. Italian-American favorites are on the menu, along with broiled specialties and a made-to-order mozzarella bar.
