Since 1901, The Carolina Hotel’s signature copper cupola has welcomed guests to “The Cradle of American Golf.” Pinehurst’s latest iteration in its continued evolution began in December 2021 with the phase one renovation of The Carolina’s guest rooms and lobby, as well as the creation of an expanded outdoor seating area with fire pits outside the Ryder Cup Lounge.
As the first phase nears completion, The Carolina’s renovated guest rooms have reopened after undergoing an expansive transformation, blending the modern luxuries the traveler has come to expect with Pinehurst’s historic charm and comfort. The refreshed and reconfigured rooms feature brighter interiors, new fixtures, finishes and custom-built furniture, as well as expanded bathrooms, improved lighting and soundproofing.
The remainder of the guest room renovations will take place in two more stages to ensure a limited impact on guests’ stays. All rooms will be finished ahead of the 2024 U.S. Open.
